Moqueca de Peixe com Pirao de Banana da Terra

Moqueca de Peixe com Pirao de Banana da Terra
2 1/2 kg of fish steak (or other white meat and firm consistency)
• 1 kg of medium shrimp already cleaned
• Juice of 2 lemons
• 5 crushed garlic cloves
• 3 large onions
• 6 large ripe tomatoes
• 3 large peppers
• 2 tablespoons of palm oil
• 1/2 packet of coriander
• 1 tablespoon of coloral
• 400 ml of coconut milk
• Olive oil and salt to taste
Preparation mode

- Separate the fish slices and "wash" with lemon juice. The idea is as follows: pass the pure lemon juice through all the slices, let it stay for about 5 minutes and then completely remove the juice from the dish, so that the taste does not get strong in the moqueca. That done, season each of the slices with crushed garlic and salt. Reserve.

- Cut all the ingredients: onions, tomatoes and peppers in half moon (half slice). There is no need to chop very small, as the idea is that these ingredients appear in the moqueca, and do not dissolve with heat. Reserve.

- Clean all the prawns, removing the tail, head, shell and, if it is your habit (as is mine), that “tripinha” that is at the top and bottom of each shrimp. Once cleaned, season with a little crushed garlic and salt. Reserve.

- Heat the clay pot (which must have already been burned in the oil, if new, according to the manufacturer's instructions). Make a "bed" of the chopped vegetables, placing half of the onion, pepper and tomato in the bottom of the pan. Add half the coriander and half the coloral. Drizzle with a little common oil and palm oil. Distribute the fish slices on this "bed". Put the rest of the ingredients, in the same order: onion, pepper, tomato, coriander, coloral, olive oil and palm oil. Cover the pan and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes.

- After 10 minutes he should have released enough water and the fish will be almost cooked. Add the shrimp and cover the pan again, cooking for another 8 minutes. Do not try to stir the ingredients in the pan to avoid breaking the fish slices! - At that time, you can gently remove a portion of the liquid that has been loosened to make your mush. - Add the coconut milk. Cover the pan again and let it cook for another 5 or 7 minutes (in the meantime make the mush). Turn off the heat, taste the salt and serve!
